Thanks. And thanks to Stan too for his comment. 

Of course we don’t have the depth of human time here that there is in southern 
and east Africa, but in a very small area we have an extraordinary continuity 
of occupation, and all very easy to get to. In yesterday’s walk as well as the 
Roman road I passed remains from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Saxon, 
Norman - every period. Quite amazing.
