As most of you know, I'm one of those who no longer use Pentax. I had to think long and hard before abandoning the brand - my first Pentax was a Spotmatic II with the 50mm/f1.4 lens, purchased (over 50 years ago!) with my first paycheque from my first full-time job. That was eventually replaced by an MX, later supplemented by an ME and a bunch of lenses when I got a one year assignment in New Zealand, and stopped off on the way in Singapore (where prices were a lot lower than in the UK!) When the digital era came along I moved to an *ist-D, and later the K-bodies, ending up with a K5, and a wide variety of lenses. But as I got older it became more of a problem to lug everything around, and so I eventually switched to Olympus and bought an M1X. That, and a few lenses, covered 99% of what I wanted to photograph, and everything fitted into a single camera bag. The only thing that I was missing was a backup camera body, and even that problem was solved when a local camera store was reducing inventory, and put a new-in-box M1X on sale at half price. -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
