For the fourth season the dead chestnut in front of our house provides me an opportunity to shoot mushroom pictures without much effort. Surprisingly, the first clusters of mushrooms have now appeared in the midst of summer with temperatures around 25 to 30 C. These are dryad's saddle (Polyporus squamosus) and oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). The latter is shrinking very rapidly at this temperature.
No doubt other species like the velvet shank will appear in autumn.
